HUNTINGTON — Walter Joseph “Joey” Brison, Jr., 59, of Ashland, Ky., and formerly of Charleston, W.Va., passed away Tuesday evening while exercising at the Paul Blazer Soccer Complex in Ashland. A former nose tackle for the Thundering Herd from 1975-78, Brison had been a teacher, coach and principal at area schools until his retirement.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, at the Thirteenth Street Baptist Church in Ashland by Pastor Jim Byrd. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. — 12 p.
