FAU DE Trey Hendrickson a major focus for Marshall's offensive line

HUNTINGTON — When Florida Atlantic end Trey Hendrickson was named Conference USA’s preseason defensive player of the year, it wasn’t necessarily because of what he did against Marshall in 2015.

His website bio reads that he had a “strong Marshall game,” with three tackles, a share of a 4-yard sack and a quarterback hurry in the Thundering Herd’s 33-17 win in Boca Raton.

But considering what he accomplished in other games — most notably, in a near-upset at Florida — he wasn’t all that strong against the Herd. Marshall was sacked just that one time and rushed for 326 yards, so whatever goals existed for slowing down Hendrickson probably were met.
