BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The pass-and-dunk combo of Jon Elmore and James Kelly hooked up one last time Saturday, resulting in a Kelly dunk with 16 seconds left as Marshall escaped with a 96-93 overtime victory over Western Kentucky.
The Thundering Herd took a 94-92 lead with that dunk, and WKU’s Frederick Edmond missed the second of two free throws with 6 seconds left. Stevie Browning got the rebound, made a free throw to set the final score and Elmore stole a pass to end the game.
Before a crowd of 4,373 at E.A. Diddle Arena, there were 12 ties and 18 lead changes.
