Marshall’s new assistant football coach comes from a Division III school in the nation’s capital, but make no mistake about it: The seeds of his hiring were sown years ago in south Florida.
Dave Dunn’s addition as tight ends coach was announced Wednesday by MU officials. Todd Goebbel moves from tight ends to wide receivers and retains the role of recruiting coordinator.
Dunn has coached the last 10 years at the Washington-based Catholic University of America, where the Cardinals went 3-7 last year. He was a high school head coach at two different schools in south Florida around the turn of the century when he crossed paths with future MU coach Doc Holliday.
