Marshall defensive lineman Vinny Curry, center, fights for position on the scrimmage line against Southern Mississippi during the first half of an NCAA college football game on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, in Huntington. Curry, now with the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles, is making a $200,000 gift to Marshall.
The newly unveiled Vinny Curry Project has two purposes, as it turns out: One, to endow a scholarship in his mother’s honor; two, to jump-start renovations to Marshall’s football building.
Curry announced Wednesday he was making a $200,000 gift to the Big Green Scholarship Foundation. On Thursday, more details came forth.
