Some of Marshall’s great football teams continue to be honored as the MU Athletics Hall of Fame announced its new induction class.
Linebacker John Spellacy and cornerback Melvin Cunningham were selected from the Thundering Herd’s best Division I-AA teams, while cornerback Dani Derricott represents the program’s first I-A squads.
They are part of nine players selected for induction, and will be introduced to the crowd at the Herd’s Sept. 17 game against Akron. The annual Hall of Fame dinner takes place the night before at 7 p.m. in the Don Morris Room at the Memorial Student Center.
