HUNTINGTON — Marshall players and coach Dan D’Antoni were diplomatic about the calls at the end of their 81-78 loss to Alabama-Birmingham.
The 7,085 fans at Cam Henderson Center, not so much.
They booed and stewed as they left the arena, knowing the Thundering Herd missed an opportunity to take the Conference USA lead — or had it ripped from them by the officials, as some would say.
D’Antoni, ever the upbeat coach, was just happy to be part of thrilling game with the 18-4 Blazers.
“I’m always going to think that it was our favor, not theirs,” he said.
