HUNTINGTON — Even before last weekend, Marshall offensive coaches and players didn’t plan on watching much video of Cincinnati’s game against Navy.
The results of that game make that an even better idea.
The Bearcats opened their American Athletic Conference season in Annapolis, and it was a long, long afternoon for the defense. The Midshipmen ran for 569 yards, the most yielded in the history of the UC program. Navy led from the first score, winning 42-32.
That beat the previous program record by 30 yards. And the Bearcats have had some bad, bad teams, such as the former holder of that dubious mark, the 1989 edition.
