Changes, competition coming as Marshall football tries to rebound

HUNTINGTON — As he continues the postmortem on Marshall’s 3-9 football season, Doc Holliday said he will make changes to his coaching staff.

The seventh-year coach also said Thursday that he did suspend quarterback Chase Litton for the Thundering Herd’s season finale, and that Litton faces a fight for his job, beginning this spring.

Elsewhere in the Shewey Athletic Building, athletic director Mike Hamrick reports that several donors have given financial aid to the rebuilding effort.

As encouraging as that is, the sudden rash of losses after 33 wins in three seasons is tough for everyone in Kelly green to stomach, from single-game ticket buyers up to Coach Holliday.
