DALLAS, Texas — Recognizing the top scholar-athletes in college football, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) proudly announced today the semifinalists for the 2016 William V. Campbell Trophy, presented by Fidelity Investments. Conference USA is represented on this list by seven outstanding student-athletes.
Marshall senior tight end Emanuel Byrd heads the list, followed by five of the seven representatives were members of the 2015 Conference USA All-Academic team: Florida Atlantic senior lineman Dillon DeBoer, Old Dominion senior lineman Tyler Compton, Rice senior running back Darik Dillard, Southern Miss senior lineman Cameron Tom and WKU senior defensive back Marcus Ward.
