AKRON, Ohio — Noah Robotham scored 27 points, 19 in the first half, as Akron led wire-to-wire in a 99-88 victory over Marshall Saturday.
The Zips shot 58.6 percent from the floor, including 15 of 28 from 3-point range, to win their seventh straight over Marshall and their 23rd straight game at James A. Rhodes Arena. The Thundering Herd (6-4) fell to 0-4 on the road.
The Herd got 31 points from Stevie Browning and shot a respectable 47.6 percent, and came close to wiping out a 53-42 halftime deficit. But all five times the Herd got within two or three points, the Zips answered with immediate points.
