WSOC earns first BIG EAST win 2-1 over Seton Hall

Marquette women’s soccer earned themselves a 2-0 first half lead for the fourth straight game. For the first time in that streak, those two goals were enough to win.

The Golden Eagles knocked off the Seton Hall Pirates 2-1 on Thursday night via goals from Darian Powell and Carrie Madden.

“We’re happy about the win,” head coach Markus Roeders said. “I thought we had a great start. … It’s good to, again, put some goals on the scoreboard.”

Powell gave Marquette the lead just three minutes and sixteen seconds into the contest. Madison Dunker sent the ball in from a free kick and the ball got loose on the far side of the box.
