Marquette women’s soccer is hitting its stride at the right time. They earned a 2-0 road win against Providence Sunday afternoon, who was ranked second in the conference coming into the game, extending Marquette’s winning streak to four games.
Liz Bartels gave the Golden Eagles an early lead when she knocked it in under Providence keeper Kristyn Shea. Carrie Madden set up Bartels with a nice one-touch pass. The assist was Madden’s team-high sixth of the season.
With just 10 minutes to go, Madison Dunker scored her first career goal on a free kick from long range near the sideline.
