Just as the Marquette men's basketball team reached its highest point of the season, knocking off in-state rival Wisconsin in Madison to extend its win streak to seven, everything ground to a halt.
The Golden Eagles had eight days off — their longest gap between games this season — to focus on final exams, which also meant fewer practices. Unlike last year, there were no transfers to bring news to an otherwise quiet week.
"Our guys got a little bit of rest and had to take care of business academically, which we were able to accomplish both those things," head coach Steve Wojciechowski said.
