Wilson thrives at stretch five, helps Golden Eagles Alumni earn third straight Super 16 bid

A year ago, Jamil Wilson’s stellar 3-point shooting helped send Golden Eagles Alumni to its second consecutive Elite Eight in The Basketball Tournament and helped him get an NBA Summer League contract.

A year later, he’s showing the same 3-point shooting that got him a NBA Summer League contract a year ago, hitting 14 3-pointers this weekend en route to the team’s third Super 16 bid in The Basketball Tournament.

After hitting nine 3-pointers Saturday, Wilson hit 4 of 8 treys Sunday en route to Golden Eagles Alumni’s 96-76 win over Hall In (Seton Hall alumni).

“He’s great moving without the ball, so I’m always looking for him and he’s always ready to sprint out and receive the ball,” point guard Maurice Acker said.
