The Marquette volleyball team went 1-2 in their three matches in Hawaii this past weekend. The highlight was a 3-2 (24-26, 25-21, 25-18, 18-25, 15-12) takedown of No. 20 Hawaii on Friday. Marquette was unable to repeat their heroics on either of the subsequent days, losing 3-1 (16-25, 20-25, 25-20, 23-25) to No. 13 UCLA Saturday and 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-18) to No. 22 San Diego Sunday.
Hawaii gave Marquette some problems at the net, collecting 18 total blocks. The Golden Eagles dropped the first set after losing a five-point lead and seemed to be headed towards dropping the second set when Hawaii went on a 7-0 run.
