This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things: Providence 79, Marquette 78

Related Topics: Half-time

Much like their Tuesday night upset of #1 ranked Villanova, YOUR Marquette Golden Eagles found themselves trailing 40-32 at halftime on Saturday. Except instead of the best team in the country on the other end of the court, it was the Providence Friars, who were coming off a loss to St. John’s on Wednesday. I’m sorry, that’s a home loss to St. John’s on Wednesday.

Yeah, it wasn’t good.

It got a little bit better in the second half, but by the final horn, it wasn’t enough. Marquette managed to take a lead shortly after halftime, but the Friars made shot after shot, building a lead and holding on for dear life to get a 79-78 victory over Marquette.
