Stevens, Carr end Marquette’s NIT run, Rowsey’s collegiate career

Andrew Rowsey broke Dwyane Wade's single-season scoring record with 715 points. The Golden Eagles lost to Penn State 85-80 in the NIT quarterfinals.

Sophomores Markus Howard and Sam Hauser propelled Marquette to the NIT quarterfinals, combining to score 1,188 points this season. A different pair of sophomores ended it.

Penn State’s Lamar Stevens and Tony Carr combined to score 55 points Tuesday night to punch Penn State’s tickets to the NIT semifinals and end Marquette’s season.

“It’s not how we wanted it to end,” Howard said. “I didn’t want to stop playing with this team. I love this team.
