Florida opened up the game by scoring seven goals on their first nine shots in just over 15 minutes as the #2 Gators ended up with a 15-5 win over Marquette on Wednesday afternoon in Gainesville.
It was just an absolute domination by the Gators, as they won six of the seven draw controls that lead to those goals and held Marquette to just two shots in the process. UF's overall team speed, both on the run and with their hands, ran roughshod through Marquette on both ends of the field. The Gators were able to slice and dice Marquette's defense for free and easy shots on goalie Sarah Priem, while the Florida defense shifted and adjusted to prevent MU from having anything resembling a real attempt on the net.
