Recruiting news can come at any time, and that was made clear on Tuesday night when Marquette women’s basketball got a verbal commitment from Class of 2017 prospect Selena Lott.
Lott is listed on her ESPN profile page as a 5’9” guard, but I’m inclined to believe the Albany Times Union when it said she was 5’11” this past January when she was named Class AA Player of the Week. She attends Columbia High School in East Greenbush, New York, which is just outside of Albany.
According to the scouting report on her ESPN page and this scouting report from May of 2015 that popped up with a Google search, it sounds like Lott excels in up-tempo situations, which means she’ll be a perfect fit for head coach Carolyn Kieger’s system.
