MU women claim Big East track crown

The Marquette women's track and field team stands tall in the Big East.

Omo Tseumah won the high jump and Maya Marion took the shot put to lead the Golden Eagles to their first-ever indoor championship Saturday in Staten Island, N.Y.

MU freshman Monique Felix, who won the pentathlon Friday, was third in the long jump and second in the triple jump to earn Field Performer of the Meet honors.

The Golden Eagles finished with 168.5 points. St. John's was second with 150.

"Super proud of the team," said MU coach Bert Rogers, whose staff received the conference award after the meet.
