With high expectations after last season’s Cinderella run into the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament, the Marquette men’s soccer team started the 2021 campaign off strong with three consecutive home victories.
At 3-0 to begin their season, the Golden Eagles were ranked as high as No. 10 in the country before losing their final three games on the nonconference slate, removing them out of the Top 25.
With BIG EAST play now on deck, the team is looking to get back on track and replicate its success in conference play from last season.
“We play in one of the best conferences in the country, so it’s very exciting for us to get back into BIG EAST play,” head coach Louis Bennett said.
