On Sunday, Marquette women’s soccer went to overtime for the first time in the timeshifted spring 2021 season. They also suffered an overtime loss for the first time this season, as Butler’s Katie Soderstrom finally got one of her five shots on goal to go into the net to beat Lauren Schill in the 105th minute. The loss drops Marquette to 5-3-0 overall on the year and 3-3-0 in Big East play this season with two matches left to go this season.
While a heavy majority of the Butler offense came from Soderstrom’s feet, the Bulldogs had an advantage against Marquette all match long.
