Over the past week, Marquette Golden Eagles women’s basketball lost to #12 Tennessee in an overtime thriller and easily beat Montana to move to a 2-2 record on the season. The Associated Press top 25 voters didn’t hold MU’s loss to the Volunteers against them all that much, placing the Golden Eagles at #23 in the newest poll. That is a drop from #20 last week, but hey, still being ranked after losing a game is pretty good.
Marquette picked up 101 points in the polling, just six fewer than #22 Michigan.
