The Associated Press released their new women’s basketball top 25 poll on Monday, and to no one’s surprise, YOUR Marquette Golden Eagles dropped a few spots in the rankings.
After suffering a narrow loss to New Mexico in the season opener just hours after last week’s poll was released, Marquette slipped from #16 in that poll to #20 in the new one. MU edged out California for the #20 spot, earning 155 points to 151 for the Golden Bears. Texas A&M is sitting at #19 with 183 points.
Four pollsters had the Golden Eagles at #15 in the country for MU’s high water mark in this ranking, while one person had MU at #25.
