GOOD NEWS: Marquette Golden Eagles women’s basketball moved up one spot in the new Associated Press top 25 poll, going from #17 in the preseason poll to #16 in the first in-season poll of 2017-18.
BAD NEWS: Marquette immediately lost their first game of the season just hours after the poll came out, falling 88-87 to New Mexico.
This, of course, raises the question of why there’s a new poll after just three days of games. MU didn’t play in the first three days of the season, yet they managed to gain ground in the poll?
