Marquette women’s basketball played one game last week while ranked #19 in the country: A road game against #24 Miami. They lost, 63-55, in a competitive matchup that they had a chance to win at the end.
Losing a road game to a ranked team is apparently a very bad thing in the eyes of the Associated Press poll voters, as MU dropped to #22 in the new AP poll that came out on Monday. The Golden Eagles picked up 120 points in the balloting, falling in between #21 Missouri at 135 points and just barely ahead of #23 Minnesota with 116 points.
