Two weeks ago, Marquette women’s basketball was drifting dangerously close to the at-large cut line of the NCAA tournament.
With a 3-1 record since then, however, the Golden Eagles are on the rise in the eyes of ESPN’s Charlie Creme. The Worldwide Leader’s women’s basketball bracketologist has Marquette as a #8 seed in the bracket outlook that he published on Tuesday afternoon. That’s one spot better than the #9 seed that they held last week, and two spots better than the #10 they were clinging to the week before that.
Creme has the Golden Eagles matched up with #9 West Virginia in the first round, with the game taking place in Storrs, Connecticut.
