On Monday afternoon, the new Associated Press Top 25 women’s basketball poll was released. Marquette picked up five points in the voting while appearing on just two ballots. That’s a drop off from last week, but the Golden Eagles also did not play a single game during the previous week’s voting period.
On Monday night, Marquette lost by 12 on the road against DePaul. On Friday and Sunday, Marquette will play two more games, both at home, and they will be favored to win both games. It will be fascinating to see how the AP voters handle the Golden Eagles next week if they come through with a 2-1 record in the voting period.
