Things were looking good for Marquette on Friday night when they made relatively quick work of Georgetown in four sets, 25-13, 24-26, 25-10, & 25-16. That got turned around on them less than 24 hours later when Villanova came into the Al McGuire Center on Saturday and beat MU in a really great four set match, 25-17, 25-22, 21-25, & 27-25.
The weekend home split drops Marquette to 2-2 in Big East play and 12-4 overall on the season. This isn’t bad, by any stretch. It’s also not terrifically great for Marquette’s shot at the Big East regular season title.
