Marquette volleyball had a chance for a 3-0 weekend in their hands on Saturday, but ended up splitting their two matches against Wichita State and IUPUI. The Golden Eagles fell in five sets (25-20, 25-18, 20-25, 18-25, 17-19) to the Shockers in the morning before getting a 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-22, 25-16) win over the Jaguars in the evening. All told, it sends Marquette’s record on the year to 3-3.
I suspect the Wichita State match may come up over and over again this season in head coach Ryan Theis’ locker room talks.
