It took Marquette just 68 minutes to hand Georgetown a 3-0 (25-12, 25-9, 25-18) loss at the McGuire Center on Friday night, giving everyone in attendance more than enough time to make their way from 12th Street down to 4th Street for the men’s basketball game later in the evening.
With the win, the Golden Eagles move to 19-8 overall and 13-3 in league play, but more importantly, Marquette clinches a spot in the Big East tournament. With just two regular season matches remaining, MU can no longer be caught even by fourth place Villanova, thus guaranteeing the Golden Eagles one of the top four spots and one of the four tournament berths.
