Turnabout is fair play when it comes to volleyball in the Big East, or at least that’s how it looks after Saturday afternoon.
#14 ranked Creighton ripped through Marquette with relative ease, handing the Golden Eagles a straight sets (25-12, 26-24, 25-15) loss. MU is now 17-8 on the season and 11-3 in Big East play, while Creighton firmly ensconces themselves in first place at 12-1 and 19-5 overall.
With the loss, Marquette will not be able to clinch a Big East tournament spot until next weekend at the earliest. In addition, now that they’re two matches behind Creighton in the loss column, MU’s regular season title hopes are now essentially destroyed.
