It’s just one game against just one opponent, but you have to be fairly enthused about the 2017 campaign for Marquette men’s lacrosse after their season opener on Saturday. The Golden Eagles went down to Florida and held Jacksonville scoreless for 47 minutes before wrapping the game up with a 17-1 victory over the Dolphins.
That is BANANAS. You could make the argument that Marquette had a legitimate shot at shutting JU out, but head coach Joe Amplo lifted starting goalie Cole Blazer after the end of the third quarter and was heavily relying on the deepest parts of his bench after that point.
