Marquette coach Carolyn Kieger preaching process over perfection

On Sunday afternoon at the Al McGuire Center, the Marquette women's basketball team played the kind of first half you might expect from a team with eight freshmen, two returning players and no seniors.

The Golden Eagles struggled with their rotations defensively, shot just 25% and were fortunate to be down only 12 to Georgetown at halftime. What transpired in the second half, though, was at the whole other end of the spectrum.

Marquette switched to a high-intensity full-court press that led to five steals, after generating none in the first half. Buoyed by that success, the Golden Eagles roared to life on offense.
