Let’s check in with the former Golden Eagles on their first day of action in Brazil.

Women’s Basketball

Canada 90, China 68 - The Canadians bombed away from long distance in their opening game of the 2016 Summer Olympics, shooting 11-for-17 (64.7%) on three pointers, on their way to the win over China. Four players scored in double digits for the winners, including a game high 20 points from Tamara Tathem.

Former Marquette forward Katherine Plouffe saw just over 16 minutes of action and scored eight points for Canada. She also grabbed three rebounds, dished three assists, and came up with a steal, all while playing twice as many minutes as her twin sister Michelle.
