Providence, R.I.— Erika Davenport had a career-high 22 points as the Marquette University women's basketball team rallied to beat Providence, 92-85, Sunday.
Marquette (14-14, 9-8 Big East) trailed by seven at the break. The Golden Eagles then started the third quarter on a 18-6 run to take a 54-49 lead, which included a 10-0 run during a span of 3 minutes, 12 seconds.
MU held on with a solid 11 of 12 free-throw shooting performance down the stretch
"This was a good, gutsy road win for our program," Marquette coach Carolyn Kieger said.
