Golden Eagles’ offense explodes in their 21st straight BIG EAST home win

Coming off a 64-55 loss to University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Wednesday, the Marquette women’s basketball team looked to bounce back in their BIG EAST opener against Providence Friday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles did just that as they defeated the Friars 89-40 for their 21st straight BIG EAST win at the Al McGuire Center. In addition, it is MU’s 11th straight overall BIG EAST win.

“Really thrilled with our bounce back from Wednesday to Friday,” head coach Megan Duffy said. “Obviously, Wednesday was was pretty devastating with the first half that we played against Milwaukee, but I just love the response of how we played defensively.
