With less than 11 minutes on the clock, the Marquette men's lacrosse team had its collective back against the wall in the first round of the NCAA tournament at Valley Fields on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles trailed North Carolina, a program with 31 NCAA appearances, by three goals. The outlook looked almost as bleak as the frigid, blustery afternoon that featured snow flurries.
But there was no way Marquette was going down without a fight. That just wasn't in the team's DNA.
