Allazia Blockton led four freshmen in double figures with 21 points as Marquette held off Big East rival Creighton, 79-72, at the Al McGuire Center on Sunday.
Blockton helped the Golden Eagles (9-11, 4-5 Big East) overcome a seven-point deficit in the third quarter, doing all of her offensive damage in the second half.
The game stayed close in the fourth quarter until McKayla Yentz' three-pointer gave MU a 69-65 lead with 1:57 left to play.
After falling behind 5-0, freshmen Erika Davenport and Natisha Hiedeman combined for 14 points and sparked an 18-0 run. Hiedeman finished with 17 points.
