Things were looking pretty bleak for the Marquette University women's basketball team Sunday afternoon.
But the Golden Eagles refused to lose. MU erased a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter and went on to edge Auburn, 70-69, in overtime at the Al McGuire Center.
The Tigers (6-2) led, 48-39, midway through the fourth period, but Marquette (4-5) knocked down 3 three-pointers in the final 1 minute, 20 seconds, including a tying basket by Natisha Hiedeman with eight seconds left.
Marquette's Danielle King drained a three-pointer to start the overtime and the Golden Eagles held off the Tigers the rest of the way.
