The AVCA top 25 poll held up, the Big East’s preseason poll did not.
#10 Creighton swept #21 Marquette on Sunday afternoon in Sokol Arena, 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-20). Marquette drops to 1-1 in Big East play, while the Jays advance to 2-0 and are tied with Georgetown atop the Big East standings.
Things starting going sideways kind of early on for Marquette, as the Bluejays got out to a 9-5 lead in the first set.
