Wout Weghorst agrees to join Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on a season-long loan from Burnley - after bidding an emotional farewell to Man United following an underwhelming Old Trafford spell

Burnley striker Wout Weghorst has joined Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on a season-long loan.

The 31-year-old started last season on-loan at Besiktas before joining Manchester United for the latter half of the campaign.

The Netherlands international made 31 appearances for Erik ten Hag's side but failed to secure a permanent move after finding the net on just two occasions.

Weghorst, who was signed by Burnley for £12million in January 2022, bid an emotional farewell to the club on Tuesday before his move to Germany was confirmed.

'Dear Man United fans, thanks for everything,' he said in a video posted on Instagram.
