Manchester United are preparing to face Northampton Town away, in a cup tie that features a top-tier side against a lower-league one -- and those exact circumstances are a repeat of what happened in 1970, when George Best was in devastating form.
On Wednesday, it will be in the EFL Cup that United and Northampton meet but, back in February 1970, it was an FA Cup match.
On that occasion, the Northern Irishman scored six goals in an 8-2 fifth round victory, with Brian Kidd scoring the other two. Perhaps it is appropriate that Northampton's ground, these days, is called Sixfields.
