Wayne Rooney says Park Ji-Sung was 'just as important as Cristiano Ronaldo' in Man United's success as he recalls South Korean's 'unbelievable' man marking of Andrea Pirlo

Wayne Rooney believes Park Ji-Sung was 'just as important' as Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United's success because he embodied the strong team ethic of Sir Alex Ferguson's side.

The South Korean midfielder spent seven seasons with United between 2005 and 2012, winning four Premier League titles, three League Cups and the Champions League.

His former Old Trafford team-mate Rooney said himself, Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez usually got the headlines for scoring goals, but wouldn't have prospered without Park's selfless efforts.
