The Reds progressed to the fourth round, where they will play Middlesbrough, thanks to Scott McTominay’s headed goal early in the first half at Old Trafford.
Speaking to MUTV and BT Sport, the Frenchman said: “Intensive match. I think some moments during the game we had to suffer and we were together and the spirit was good. Clean sheet and the victory. so that’s very good for us.”
He added: "It was a difficult match. We had to suffer a lot on the pitch but together, and I liked the spirit of this match.”
Despite being a tense affair, the game was an open one with both teams having spells peppering the other’s goal.
