Valencia voted most ideal for wing-back role

When presented with a 10-man shortlist to choose from, voters in the United App and on ManUtd.com had their say in big numbers, and there is a clear victor.

Antonio Valencia, at time of writing, has posted 32 per cent to achieve deserved recognition in this regard.

The Ecuadorian was a winger when arriving from Wigan Athletic, with the huge responsibility of trying to help fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo's big-money departure for Real Madrid.

Valencia quickly made an impact at Old Trafford, earning a place in the PFA Team of the Year at the end of his first season, and securing a maiden Premier League winners' medal in 2010/11.
