I’m so grateful, though, because I’ve had so much support from my friends and from a lot of the amazing people I’ve come to know through Manchester United. I can’t thank these people enough. Among them, almost every day, I’ve had the boss checking in on me. Sir Alex has been absolutely fantastic.
My missus used to say to me:
“There’s three people in this marriage: you, me and Fergie. He gets on the phone and you jump. Then he gets on the phone again and you jump a bit higher.”
She was so understanding, though.
