United pursuing domestic-cup feat in Saturday's final

The Reds face Manchester City in the Emirates FA Cup final (15:00 BST kick-off) at Wembley Stadium, just over three months on from our Carabao Cup success against Newcastle United at the same ground.

Victory in the derby would cap off a successful first season for United under the management of Erik ten Hag and achieve the feat that we’ve never quite managed to do before.

Remarkably, we’ve won the two competitions 18 times combined (12 FA Cups, six League Cups), but never have two of those successes ever been celebrated in the same campaign.

The closest our teams of the past have come to doing that were on the previous occasions that we reached both finals: in the 1982/83 and 1993/94 seasons.
