United’s no.10 has been recognised for his outstanding work on and off the pitch by the FWA, in particular his achievement in convincing the Government to make a U-turn in regards to providing free school meals for poor families.
Rashford, 23, became the youngest-ever recipient of the award, with previous winners including United legends like Sir Alex Ferguson, Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and David Beckham.
“As a kid, you want to follow in footsteps of those you see as heroes,” Marcus told the FWA.
“My journey to the first team was all about doing the things that they had done, making the same steps that they made into the position that they were in.
